« Last post by ozone on April 18, 2014, 10:33:43 AM »
followed roof mount instructions on this forum and couldn't be happier with results. instructions were perfect. my question is....on a roof mount hood, has anyone tried to seal the back side of the hood that would normally be against the house to protect awning from elements? if so what material was used?

We noticed with the bigger 1/4 inch drill bit the lags seemed to strip easier in wood thats why we went down to a 3/16 drill bit

Installation Questions / Drill Into Roof
« Last post by ozone on March 18, 2014, 01:04:18 PM »
step 15 of roof mount instructions says to use 3/16 drill bit instead of 1/4 as recommended by sunsetter because 1/4 may strip lag bolt. since 3/16 is smaller than 1/4 i would think a smaller hole would be more likely to strip. or am i confused?
