I have an 11 foot SunSetter Vista with Manual crank and only 7 ft. 4 inches from the deck to the soffit. It is to be installed on an upper patio and I am not concerned with the angle of the slope as there is no entry point to the deck from the lowest point of the leading edge of the awning. Can you recommend this installation on the wall and what problems may be encountered?

You need at least 7' 6" to mount the awning. Even at 7' 6" the front of the awning is low. We usually go right to a roof mount if its under 7' 10". You can adjust the pitch of the awning. The awning comes set with a 29 inch drop. You can get it pretty straight with the adjustments. I would definitely go with the roof brackets. From my experience you wont be happy with the front height of the awning.
