Engineered Beam Installation
« on: April 27, 2012, 09:10:56 PM »
I have a newer two story home with 9' ceilings on the first floor and engineered wood I-beams for the second floor joists.  I am assuming the only way to mount my 18' motorized unit is either above or below this engineered beam.

Any ideas?

We would go into the studs on the 1st floor. You have plenty of height with 9 ft ceilings. Go at least 8' to the top of the wall bracket. Hold up a bracket on the siding to see the best place to mount it so you can use shims.
