Drill Into Roof
« on: March 18, 2014, 01:04:18 PM »
step 15 of roof mount instructions says to use 3/16 drill bit instead of 1/4 as recommended by sunsetter because 1/4 may strip lag bolt. since 3/16 is smaller than 1/4 i would think a smaller hole would be more likely to strip. or am i confused?

We noticed with the bigger 1/4 inch drill bit the lags seemed to strip easier in wood thats why we went down to a 3/16 drill bit
