How Close to edge to mount first Bracket?
« on: June 19, 2012, 11:40:29 AM »
I am mounting a 20' Motorized XL and need to know how close to the end of the deck to mount the first bracket?

I need the edge of the awning to sit over top and flush with the railings on the deck.

Should first bracket be 9 feet up flush with railings?

Thanks
John

John you could mount the first bracket 2" away from the end of the awning. It all depends if there is a stud there. If you could post a picture of where its going.
Thanks
Bill

Bill,

I just received the awning today but have not "untubed" it yet as I have to work.

I was Unsure as to where to place the brackets exactly.

In Reading a Install PDF from this site I see there is a set pattern to the brackets..

5", 50" ,76" etc.. I didn't know that.. I guess Ill just have to play with it to get the first bracket in between the end and the first arm so that the edge of the awning is flush with the railing..

I think your right 2" is probably a good starting Point..

I am hoping to hit the Ledger board for the second story and all the stud nonsense will be a moot point ...... :-)

Thanks for your Reply..

PS. Ill get up a picture tommorrow when I start..
